#StarbuckStartups What we can learn from the seat fillers at the Academy Awards? By Jedi Steve
Recent events have got me thinking about how unauthentic the old model of success that so many of us are yearning for is. So many of us are trying to be seat fillers to get the approval of Society, our friends, our family and the list goes on. Being a Seat filler doesn’t make you a Celebrity…
“Wearing a Michael Jordan Jersey doesn’t make you Michael Jordan.”
Fun fact Michael Jordan was cut from his High School Basketball team, I guess it is true that adversity builds character.
We can be inspired by our sports hero’s but what if? We were inspired to find our own path… Individually and collectively…
Fun fact Michael Jordan arguably the best basketball player ever use to fuel his emotional edge by reading the Newspaper Clipping of his critics. Lots of leaders today just want to come into contact with Yes men, rainbows and butterflies.
Fun fact Michael Jordan also use to visualize the Basketball Hoop being really Big so all his shots were easy scores. What can we learn from this? How can we leverage this? How can this knowledge fuel our bottom line?

For me it comes down to Being Charmed vs. Being Entitled
- Expecting good things to happen to you…
- Expecting everything you need to show up at the right time with little or no effort
Expecting the community around you to support you as you bring your dreams to reality
And here is the most important part “Don’t get butt hurt when no one else shares this same belief you.” Because we are the most influential person in our own lives. Pretty Powerful Statement, how does that make you feel?
Jööri!
