How would Shakespeare use Social Media for Social Change?
This morning I was talking to one of the founding member’s of the San Diego State University Shakespeare Club. As we were talking it got me thinking about William Shakespeare and what influence has he had on society as we know it. How did he use flowery speech to make communication a contact sport? To be honest don’t always get Shakespeare’s work but I do understand the man. Shakespeare turned questioning the status quo into an art form that we are still cracking the code on several hundred years later.
What would Shakespeare tweet?
A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.
A peace is of the nature of a conquest; for then both parties nobly are subdued, and neither party loser.
All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.
The last one is more than 144 characters yet it starts out with “All the world’s a stage.” so I guess this includeth twittereth.
