#StarbuckStartups What we can learn from the seat fillers at the Academy Awards?
Recent events have got me thinking about how unauthentic the old model of success that so many of us are yearning for is. So many of us are trying to be seat fillers to get the approval of Society, our friends, our family and the list goes on. Being a Seat filler doesn’t make you a Celebrity…
“Smoking weed doesn’t make you Bob Marley and if you think it does, you’re just blowing smoke.”
Bob Marley was a Hero not Just because for his Music but for his actions in Uplifting Humanity…As I learned in the documentary below is he found strength in “Blazing” his own path and I challenge you to do the same…Not just playing the game to be a Seat Filler for someone else. Be Motivated and Inspired by others but Blaze your own Path and inspire others around you to do the same.
What is a seat filler? It’s common knowledge that the Academy Awards employ seat fillers to make sure that any time the camera pans through the audience, every single space is filled—both for aesthetic reasons and because the Academy doesn’t want it to look like James Franco’s date abandoned him. But a lot goes on behind the scenes to make certain that, even if Anne Hathaway gets up to go to the bathroom five seconds before the commercial break ends, as soon as the cameras sweep the front rows, someone is already sitting in her seat.
We may have the talent, skills, vision and Knowledge yet me lack the values that the struggle creates…Being a Seat Filling
